Chapter 8 The Kite Runner

After readers learn what happened to Hassan in the last chapter, the glory continues on. Hassan and Amir are barely in contact as Hassan does his chores and locks himself away in bed. I could only imagine how bad he felt about himself and everything that happened. Meanwhile Amir was still spending his time lying to his family and Hassan’s about not knowing what was wrong with him. Amir was slowly being eaten alive with guilt. This pushed forward something new.

Chapter 2-3 The Kite Runner

I enjoyed reading these chapters because do the nostalgia. Hearing the Narrator speak about his life as a child in his hometown is intriguing. They lived in the Kabul which is a large city of Afghanistan. He and his companion Hassan had different living states. The narrators father built a large beautiful home while Hassan lived in a small shack he was born in. They did not use these things against one another tho. He further spoke about people in his life and some of the daily things he and Hassan did or went through to go places or do things.

Presentation day 2

Today’s we continued on with the last of our poem out loud presenters. Today I haven’t really felt good and honestly did not want to be in class but I pushed through. Everyone today did very well presenting. I am very proud of everyone in my class. Afterwards we went into groups to discuss a new book we will be starting. The kite runner is the name and it takes place in Afghanistan. Therefore, Mr. Rease has taken this as an opportunity to learn about the country as a whole. My group got religion which I already knew a lot about Islam from my learnings in 7th grade. Tomorrow we will present them to the class.

presentation day

So about two weeks ago we were assigned a poetry project today and tomorrow. Honestly I was absolutely terrified because I went today. I am not the type that is good at public speaking I get anxiety and nervousness. I had to build the courage to even get up. My heart beat was 10 times higher than it was supposed to be. I am one that is good with memory but not with poems, not to mention I have had a lot going on in my life so it was a struggle. I believe that I did alright but I still missed up which has torn me apart. Atleast I got it out of the way and I hope the best to other people who will be going tomorrow.

Same old same old

Just as we have been lately we went over more poems. Today was different because they were not only Maya Angelou but also Langston Hughes. The poems were interesting because they were the opposite of one another. One was mother to son and the other was son to mother. That is an interesting top pic overall because mother and son relationships tend to be problematic in society. I really have been enjoying the analysis of poems very much especially what we did today. Class ended with us answering a few questions and watching videos of poetry out loud. This is to prepare us for our upcoming presentations next week of our own poems.

The Ceremony

Today I, once again, missed Mr.Rease’s class today. The National Honor Society program was today and still going on during his class time. I was nervous at first because I felt like everyone was not fully prepared.Although I felt this, everything went extremely well and I was exhausted after the whole ordeal oblong with my feet. I spent a lot of time napping the rest of the day.

Missed class

Today I was not present in class because I had to do preparations for the program tomorrow. I am in the National Honor Society so we had to practice for the ceremony. Everything went pretty well and I am excited for all of the inductees that will be crossing over.

Another day of deep thoughts

I like how Mr Rease has incorporated but more thought and value into the subject of certain things before we begin a lesson on them. Today we read another poem which happened to be about music and myths. He asked us a series of questions and we all discussed also with definitions of the words. I enjoy when we do these types of things, I feel that it helps with my comprehension and it makes me more engaged in class. Although today I wasn’t feeling all that great mentally this subject we did helped me feel a little better.
