I was absent today

Today we finished our discussion groups and went on about our day. Mr. Rease spoke to students individually about their essays and test scores.

Today was the EQT texting for our class. Our test was on the color purple.

Today instead of taking our EQT we did some group work.eaxh group was given a different topic but the whole class changed groups simultaneously to discuss themes evidence and claims for them. We did not get to finish and discuss them with Mr.Rease.

Mr rease gave us a pop quiz on our assigned reading from last night. The class had a lot of problems with it but that was the purpose to help with our comprehension and retention of reading. We went through the questions and read the chapters. Then we proceeded to read the next chapters and make answer a few more questions as a class.

It is important for the class to be able to understand and write on given prompts. Being so, this is what we did today. Mr. Rease ties in our novel, the color purple, with the learning of ap literature prompts. It was honestly a helpful lesson which he stated himself he took way more time on it than he intended to but it was worth it.

Today we went over discussion  questions for letters 51-55. They are apart of the rest of a packet of questions we are supposed to do. Afterwards we read more letters in the book. From these letters we were able to learn more about characters and some questions we thought were fully answered that turned out differently.

Today we finished the group presentations that we started on Friday. We also went into more depth on these certain letters the groups did. Afterwards of course we did more reading and spoke on topics within the novel.

Today came another set of two poems alone with questions to anwser with them. I did better as far as comprehension today for these poems and did well on the test. Afterwards Mr. Rease gave everyone an assignment to write a poem for the poetry contest and submit them. Personally I wrote mine fairly quickly but “I did pour my heart out into it” as he said and I’m feeling good about it.

we began the class with a pop quiz on a poem we all have never read. We were only given 10 minutes and surprising everyone did pretty well. The rest of class we read more of the color purple.

He was absent today so we had a free block.

We spent most of class today refreshing our minds of the color purple and also reading further into the novel’s letters.
